Bipolar disorder, also known as manic depression, is a mental illness that brings severe high and low moods and changes in sleep, energy, thinking, and behavior. People who have bipolar disorder can have periods in which they feel overly happy and energized and other periods of feeling very sad, hopeless, and sluggish. In between those periods, they usually feel normal. You can think of the highs and the lows as two “poles” of mood, which is why it’s called “bipolar” disorder.
ADHD Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a brain disorder that affects how you pay attention, sit still, and control your behavior. It happens in children and teens and can continue into adulthood. ADHD is the most commonly diagnosed mental disorder in children. Boys are more likely to have it than girls. It’s usually spotted during the early school years, when a child begins to have problems paying attention. ADHD can’t be prevented or cured. But spotting it early, plus having a good treatment and education plan, can help a child or adult with ADHD manage their symptoms. Visit a All Natural MD Sarasota marijuana doctor today. In western civilization the Greek physician Galen prescribed medical marijuana in the year 170 AC. Marijuana was used as a medicine by Queen Victoria of England who reportedly used cannabis in 1840 for menstrual cramps.
In America, the Marijuana Tax Act of 1937 placed a tax on the sale of cannabis and a fine to doctors who will recommend its use. Soon enough it became prohibited and in the 1970s President Nixon signed the Controlled Substance Act where marijuana is classified as Schedule 1, as is heroin and LSD and is defined as a substance without any medical value and highly addictive. Now we know better and despite its limitation regarding clinical studies, every day it seems a new property, a new indication for cannabis use is identified. What is it that makes the cannabinoids in marijuana (THC and CBD) react with our bodies, healing and offering relief to the ill?

It all started in 1964 when a scientist was able to identify and isolate THC for the first time – just prior to which they were able to identify CBD as well. In 1988, the first cannabinoid receptor was found in the brain of a rat. These cannabinoid receptors turned out to be plentiful in the brain – more so than any other neurotransmitter receptor. In 1993, a second cannabinoid receptor was found – as a part of the immune and nervous system. Dubbed CB2 (the CB receptors in the brain officially dubbed CB1 receptors) receptors are found to be plentiful throughout the gut, spleen, liver, heart kidneys, bones, blood vessels, lymph cells, and even the reproductive organs.

What is frozen shoulder?
Frozen shoulder results from the gradual loss of movement in the shoulder (glenohumeral) joint. This joint consists of a ball (the humeral head) and socket (the glenoid). Normally it is one of the most mobile joints in the body. When the shoulder is frozen, the joint has become stuck and its movement is limited.
What causes frozen shoulder?
Although many shoulder diseases involve pain and loss of motion, frozen shoulder is most often caused by inflammation (swelling, pain and irritation) of the tissues surrounding the joint. The tissue that envelops the joint and holds it together is called the capsule. Normally the capsule has folds that can expand and contract as the arm moves into various positions. In a frozen shoulder, the capsule has become inflamed and scarring develops. The scar formations are called adhesions. As the capsule’s folds become scarred and tightened, shoulder movement becomes restricted and moving the joint becomes painful. This condition is called adhesive (scarring) capsulitis (inflammation of the capsule). It is not known exactly what causes this condition. Immobilization of the shoulder (after an arm injury, for instance) can lead to frozen shoulder. Inflammation of the muscles and/or tendons, as with rotator cuff tendinitis or bursitis, can also cause the shoulder joint to become frozen.

Frozen shoulder symptoms
Range of motion fails, slowly and painfully, usually just on one side. Most patients first notice that they are having trouble reaching bra clasps, hip pockets, and back itches. The painful early stage mostly involves aching or burning deep in the shoulder joint, sometimes extending into the upper arm, often worst at night. Sudden movements can cause surges of much sharper and more extreme pain. Many frozen shoulder patients consider it the worst pain they’ve ever endured. Much more detail about symptoms to come.
